The White Lotus Season 3 Latest Episode, Anxiety Spikes on HBO Max

Jason Isaacs and Morgana O’Reilly in “The White Lotus” Season 3, episode 4

This week in “The White Lotus” things moved at the pace only we seemingly know how to sustain ourselves- which is to say, they are progressing steadily while simultaneously preparing for an explosive increase.

When Pills and Guns Meet Water Guns

Since that unfortunate armed robbery incident. Guard Gaitok has been provided with a handgun by management to help him with security at the resort. However, management has provided no formal training regarding the firearm and based on our analysis of his character at the end of the episode, we know how much training Gaitok desperately requires. He is then told he must go to a gun range to learn how to properly use the gun.

Timothy’s pill popping, stealth style, continues and is now swallowing two pills dry and eventually stealing his wife’s entire stash to the point where standing up straight has become a chore. Later, he gets his phone back and has a chat with his lawyer, which is slightly problematic because he now understands the level of difficulty he is in in terms of the state of his home. Tim is going to lose it all, including the house and is highly likely going to prison.

“What do you want me to tell my family, we’re f**king poor now?” he says with panic right before he loses the contents of his stomach. This is the point where his and Gaitok’s storylines merge because Timothy is talking on the phone in front of the security gate when Gaitok, for some odd reason, decides to leave his gun out while strolling with the beautiful Mook towards the resort. Naturally when Gaitok comes back, the gun is gone.

In the meantime, this trio of girlfriends that happen to be blondes, form a plot to escape the property of White Lotus, spearheaded by Jaclyn who is aiming for something more “vibey”, but these plans hit a wall when they first go to a retirement resort right next to her which she absolutely loathes. After that, they get caught up in a water fight on the street, which is actually something that happens in Thailand during New Years, as it turns out.

As Saxon, Lochlan, Chloe, and Chelsea drown out the worries of life with a party on Gary’s decked out yacht – which is UNNERVINGLY similar to the boat Sang died on in Season 2!!! – they set sail towards a full moon party on the beautiful Koh Phangan. “Sh*t’s about to get crazy,” Said Saxon as the group brandished their drinks. We can’t wait to see how much.

Best Dialogues

“You don’t have enough lorazepam to get through one week at a wellness spa?” ~Piper Ratliff to her mother Victoria

“We can’t just sit at the pool all week. I mean, it’s a beautiful pool, but we should at least one day sit by a different pool, don’t you think?!” ~Jaclyn to Kate and Laurie

Two lines not fit for print, uttered by Saxon Ratliff on the boat. One is his summation of what traveling girls in Thailand are “thirsty for,” followed immediately by his butchery of the common Thai greeting “Sawadika.” Cringe!

“I’m a pillar of the community.” ~a slurring Timothy to fellow guests on the yacht

“We know how to make fun!” ~Vlad, one of Valentin’s Russian friends, to the frenemy girlfriends (this is a subtle callback to Season 2, when Lucia says, “Let’s fun”)

“Federal prison. Most of them aren’t too bad. I know a few guys who’ve come out fine.” ~Tim’s lawyer, to Tim

Next in this season

As the season winds down, it’s hard to deduce who Gary may or may not be, but he definitely is embroiling suspicion around him. When Victoria meets him on his boat and asks what someone like him did before retiring, he answers with, “Government work, a little investing.” That reminds one of Greg’s work with BLM (Bureau of Land Management). Is that the government work Victoria’s talking about?

And Belinda is still reeling from the shock of Gary’s face. A somewhat disturbing deep dive search through Google contacts leaves her aghast about her former contact Tonya McQuoid, of all people, who is now dead and whose husband seems to have disappeared. When Belinda attempts to search for her’s ex-husband’s Greg Hunt, the last person she suspected to see was a fellow she approached in Thailand not too long ago.

“One more horrifying sight towards the end of the episode has Gary/Greg doing some snooping of his own. He’s looking at Belinda’s Instagram on his computer, and pauses on a photo of her with her son Zion, while the rest of the room is dimly lit. Gary/Greg’s emotionless eyes look through the screen, which reflects light. Better steer clear of them, old chap!” As the clock cats to 9 PM on a Sunday, the horror and mystery unfold on the upcoming episode of “The White Lotus” on HBO. The episode can also be streamed from Max. Next time you open CNN, don’t forget that they, HBO, and Max, so get ready for some epic Warner Bros discovery.
